Syngenta becomes strategic partner in India’s Annam.AI Project

On June 15, Syngenta signed a memorandum of understanding in Nice, France, officially becoming a strategic partner in India’s Annam.AI project.

The project is supported by the Indian government and led by the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, in collaboration with technology partners including Google. It aims to build a nationwide agricultural intelligence network that provides farmers with AI-powered, hyper-local crop management advice to address climate change and pest challenges.

Syngenta will leverage its R&D and agronomic expertise to help develop models for crop health, pest prediction, and heat stress. Syngenta CEO Jeff Rowe said the project is expected to benefit over 600 million people in India. Syngenta remains committed to using innovative technologies to deliver higher yields with lower emissions and support India’s agricultural digital transformation.
