In response to President Xi Jinping and President Lukashenko of Belarus on the proposal to accelerate the “Belt and Road” initiative between China and Belarus, a delegation of four including President of Sinochem Group and Chairman of Sinofert Holdings Ltd. (Sinofert) Mr. Zhang Wei, and Mr. QinZhong Hengde, CEO of Sinofert, visited Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) in Belarus recently for in-depth discussion of business cooperation purposes. On August 12, Sinochem Fertilizer Macao Commercial Offshore Limited and BPC signed a five-year (2019-2023) MoU of cooperation on large grain potash fertilizer (white) with the former as the exclusive agentproxy of this product in the Chinese market. The total volume was 700,000 tons (including quantity of selection). The specific annual contract will be based on the market at the time.
The signing of the MoU is an active promotion and implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative. It is effective contributing effort for the economic and trade exchanges between China and Belarus, the strategic cooperation between Sinochem Group and BPC, support for the potash fertilizer production in Belarus and high quality potash fertilizer supply for China’s agricultural production.
During the visit of Belarus, Mr. Zhang Wei and his delegatioentourage called upon the China-Belarus Industrial Park to learn about the results of cooperation between China and Belarus in the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative and discussed investment opportunities related to the Park.
Sinochem Group and BPC have enjoyed a long-term friendly strategic partnership. Since May 10, 2015, the date when the five-year (2015-2019) MoU of cooperation was signed under the witness of the two heads of state, the two sides have witnessed enhanced cooperation in areas such as market exploration, product development and information exchange among others.
