On August 9, the China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina) made a donation of 2 million yuan to Gansu's Zhouqu county, which was hit by a landslide triggered by heavy rain from August 7-8.

The landslide caused massive floods, drowning many residents of the county, and electricity, traffic, and communication have all been cut off.

So far, 127 people have died and 1,294 are missing.

ChemChina made no delay in wiring the money to the disaster-stricken area, and immediately began to plot its next move.

Many enterprises under ChemChina are located in Gansu Province, making active contributions to the local economy’s construction over the years.

ChemChina has finished 30 projects in the west, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan, over the six years since its establishment.

The company will inject more investment into Gansu in the future to restructure its industries and support its economic development.
