On the just released 2012 Fortune Global 500 list, ChemChina moved significantly up from 2011, jumping 73 spots to 402nd with its sales revenue amounting to US$ 27.7 billion (RMB 179.1 billion). (Sales revenue of Elkem and MAI consolidated, both acquired in 2011, are those after the closure of transaction in April and October last year respectively.)

In 2012, 79 Chinese companies got onto the list, among which 43 are central SOEs.

The Fortune Global 500 is the best-known and authoritative list of world's largest corporations, compiled and published by the Fortune magazine every year.
