In 2007, China National Seed Group Corporation became a Sinochem subsidiary through the reorganization. As a national seed enterprise engaged in R&D, production, processing, distribution, marketing and sales of corn, rice, vegetable and other seeds products, CNSGC is playing an important role in the seed industry at home and abroad and ranks No.1 among the top 50 seed companies accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture.

With the production sites of over 20,000 hectares, 9 large-scale processing plants with a total capacity of 72 mt/hour and 9 breeding stations and trial bases including a trial and development center in Zhuozhou (Hebei Province), a corn breeding site in Shenyang (Liaoning Province) and a vegetable trial station in Shouguang (Shandong Province), CNSGC boasts the leading capability in seed production and processing in the industry.

Since it joined Sinochem Corporation, CNSGC has been further determined to be market-oriented and go out. Its influence and corporate image has been greatly enhanced.

In recently, CNSGC made considerable progress in researches with 167 new corn and rice hybrids submitted for national and provincial testing, 4 hybrids being granted the national approval, 15, provincial approval, and 26 having applied for the new variety protection. Meanwhile, CNSGC has also been undertaking a couple of national research projects, including “the premium high yield and multiple traits corn seed technology industrialization” project under the National Development and Reform Commission and “the premium high yield hybrids No. 629-pilot and demo” project under the Ministry of Science. By these means, CNSGC is playing an active role in the national seed industrial trial and promotion projects to contribute to the development of the whole industry while growing the business of its own.
