Established in July 1949, Sinochem Shanghai is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sinochem Corporation, which lists on the Fortune Global 500.

The main businesses of Sinochem Shanghai are trade distribution, R&D and production, resource development and logistics service for the chemical products, such as Fluorine chemicals series, agrochemical series, dye intermediate series, crylic acid and acrylate series, TDI & polyurethane series and etc. It is provided with the organizations and facilities for the main business, which includes factory, warehouse, storage tank, real estate and etc.

Focused on the four core essentials which are resource obtaining, R&D, brand building and mode innovation, the company has optimized the products chain, prolonged the value chain, and perfected the service chain, and has enhanced the sustainable development capacity and transferred from the type of marketing service to the type of industrial service by transverse conformity and longitudinal expanding. Sinochem Shanghai has invested Fujian Kings Fluoride Industry Co., Ltd., Fujian Kings Mining Co., Ltd., and finished the main work for a new project --15,000 tons hydrofluoric acid in 2007. The joint venture with Jiangsu Anpon Electrochemical Co., Ltd.—Huaian Tianyi Chemical Co., Ltd. has set up at the same year, the first phase of 10000 tons/year PMIDA and 3000 tons/year glyphosate has begun to construct. In 2008, the company has signed the sales cooperation agreement for crylic acid and acrylate with CNPC Lanzhou Chemical Company. It has realized the advantages complementary and win-win cooperation with domestic large-scaled enterprises, and got into a new step to the strategic transformation.  

The company has been awarded the title of an AA-enterprise by the Customs and the title of an honorable enterprise by the State Administration for Foreign Exchange. In December 2000, Sinochem Shanghai was certified ISO9001-2000 by BSI and passed review every year. From 2000 to 2005, the company has won the title of Shanghai Top 100 exports companies annually.And it was elected as the Vice Chairman & the Director of council of the third Shanghai Association of Chemical Industry in 2006.
