At the end of 1987, the State Council approved Sinochem to conduct international trial operation. After 7 years’ development, Sinochem evolved into a multinational company with cross-industry, multi-functional, comprehensive and international operation, and ranked among Fortune global 500 companies in 1989. It is one of Chinese enterprises that entered into the list at the earliest stage.

 In 1980s, Sinochem further expanded the export of domestic chemical products while guaranteeing the country’s assignment, and set up a batch of associated economic entities, which boosted the export growth of chemical products. By 1986, the export volume had reached US$708 million with annual trading volume ranking top in the industry.
