Between June 29th and July 3rd, the 19th World Petroleum Congress (WPC) was being held in Madrid, Spain. Headed by Li Hui, Vice President, a delegation of 10 participated in the WPC.

On the eve of the 75 anniversary of the World Petroleum Council, the 19th WPC was opened under the theme: The World in Transition: Delivering Energy for Sustainable Growth. The delegates intensively interacted around the topics of the oil price soaring, the countermeasures against the oil price, etc.

Over 5,000 delegates from the governments and the oil companies of approximately 100 countries across the world participated in the WPC. Alongside with the WPC, the World Petroleum Exhibition was held as always, where PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC and Sinochem each reserved an independent booth.

Taking the advantage of the congress, Sinochem delegation had extensive exchanges with the world oil giants including Repsol, Total, Chevron, etc., having extended the thanks to them for their support over the years, introduced Sinochem’s achievements since the implementation of the market-oriented development strategy and developed the mutual understandings with these partners.

The participation of the 19th WPC and WPC helped Sinochem further demonstrate its achievements in the oil business and increased our influence in the world oil industry.
