On March 14, the UAQ Offshore Gasfield, Sinochem’s first fully-owned-and-operated project saw the result of the relief testing of three horizontal wells, all of which produce high gas flow, achieving the drilling geological proposal. The three horizontal segments are all in the good reservoir property, the upper part of Shuaiba. The initial testing shows that the daily production of the three horizontal wells reaches 100 MMSCFD, promising the high and stable production of the UAQ Offshore Gasfield in future.

The development of the three horizontal wells lasted 160 days. Sparing no efforts to overcome problems including dis-alignment between subsea wellbores and platform conductor guides, formation high pressure, collapse of mudstone zone and unusual storm, the project team managed to meet the goals set in the plan.

The UAQ Offshore Gasfield is located in the UAQ of UAE, 25 kilometers from the shore, 32 meters deep underwater. Atlantis Holding Norway AS, a subsidiary of Sinochem Corporation, words as an independent operator. The project sees a total of four phases, from construction and installment of the offshore platform, pipe laying, gas well completion & acid treatment to production trial. Now the first three phases have been completed, in preparation for the production trial.
