On December 26, 2007, Sinochem Petroleum Exploration and Production Co., Ltd. signed a Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement with China Petroleum Group Engineering Design Co. Ltd. (CPE). Han Gensheng, Vice President of Sinochem Corporation and General Manager of Sinochem Petroleum Exploration and Production Co., Ltd. and Chi Shangzhong, General Manager of CPE signed the agreement.

According to the agreement, the two companies will begin the all-around cooperation in petroleum engineering and construction. Sinochem Petroleum Exploration and Production Co., Ltd. will have the priorities to enjoy CPE’s technical consulting service and general contracting in oilfield development and construction projects.  

Centering on exploration of ground construction and design of petroleum, gas and refining projects, CPE is a major petroleum engineering design company directly under China National Petroleum Corporation. CPE provides a series of project services ranging from exploration, consulting, design, general contracting and supervising and is fully qualified in the areas of petroleum, natural gas, chemicals, petrochemical medicines in terms of general contracting, project consulting, mapping, and exploration.
