In the recent national pesticide registration toxicological test meeting, Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry was qualified as an Class-A institution. The meeting was jointly organized by the Safety Assessment Center of Shenyang Institute and the Institute for the Control of Agrichemicals of the Ministry of Agriculture and 35 institutes nationwide were recognized as qualifiers.

The Safety Assessment Center of Shenyang Institute is focused on the safety issues of agrochemicals, medicines and other fine chemicals. With the capability of implementing over 1,200 experiments every year, the Center is now China’s only safety assessment lab in the aforementioned areas. In the recent years, the Center is promoting the Good Laboratory Practices and was appointed by the state as the “Center of Agrochemicals Safety Assessment and Quality Supervision and Inspection” and the “National Assessment Center for New Medicine Safety”. In 2006, the Center was certified by the China National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (CNAL) and Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC). The meeting and training session jointly initiated by the Saftety Assessment Center and the Institute for the Control of Agrichemicals of the Ministry of Agriculture will further assert the Center’s leading position in China’s agrochemical GLP and toxicological testing capabilities.
