Sinochem has been in the business of rubber and related products for more than 50 years. In recent years, Sinochem has built up a global rubber distribution network on the basis of marketing advantages and long-term strategic cooperative relationships with multinational companies. At the same time, Sinochem also sped up its industrial layout in the domestic rubber market, especially in the natural rubber market. Sinochem International now takes the third position in the domestic market in terms of the processing capability. Progress also has been made in acquiring overseas natural rubber resources.

In 2006, Sinochem International consolidated the upstream resources and integrated supplies, production and sales of natural rubber. Upon having formed a strategic partnership with Hainan State Farming Group and Yunnan State Farming Group and established the joint ventures of Hainan Sinochem Anlian and Yunnan Banna Sinochem Anlian, Sinochem International successfully completed its merging with Hainan Chengxin. Meanwhile, the technical alteration of Yunnan Banna Plants was completed on schedule and Yunnan Banna International Standard Plant was under construction. Sinochem International thus possessed a processing capability of 100,000 tons of natural rubber per year, including an exclusive production capability of 70,000 tons all steel radial tyre rubber. On this basis, Sinochem International accelerated its pace to acquire natural rubber resources from Southeast Asia.
