 Sinochem is China’s national agricultural inputs company and one of the leading players in this sector. In recent years, we have actively participated in rational exploration and development of domestic fertilizer resources and improved the self-production ability. In the meantime, Sinochem is embracing the global market to build its diversified purchasing channel, improve its organizing ability of fertilizer resources, and acquire high quality fertilizers continuously and stably.
Sinochem puts its production and investment priority on the high-grade fertilizer projects which has strong resources backing. We proactively participate in the phosphate and potash deposit’s development and industrial adjustment in Yunnan, Guizhou and Qinghai Province. Sinochem has currently been the only fertilizer company with the production capability of nitrogen, phosphate, potash and compound fertilizer. After becoming the second shareholder of Qinghai Salt Lake Potash in 2004, Sinochem became the second shareholder of Qinghai Salt Lake Potash’s mother company, Qinghai Salt Lake Corporation, through participating in its capital expansion, which laid a foundation for joining in the comprehensive resources development of Qinghai Chaha’erhan Lake. By the end of 2006, Sinochem and its holding companies controlled and participated in 10 fertilizer manufacturing companies. The total production capacity had reached 5.93 million tons.
For a long time, Sinochem has been an important force on international chemical fertilizer market. In addition to developing the supply channels of its own makers and increasing the supply of raw materials, Sinochem has been devoting itself to the establishment of diversified procurement channels with the global market in mind to secure a steady and continuous supply of quality fertilizer resources. In the international market, Sinochem strengthens its strategic cooperation with the world’s major fertilizer suppliers. Sinochem signed contracts with these major suppliers to become the only distributor of their products in China. As China’s largest fertilizer importer, Sinochem’s import proportion of potash and compound fertilizer easily takes the first position in China. In it’s home country, Sinochem emphasizes the establishment of domestic fertilizer products supplying system. Based on original production capability, Sinochem became a shareholder through capital operation of two listed fertilizer company, Luxi Chemicals and Hualu Hengsheng, which further expanded mutual strategic cooperation and Sinochem’s fertilizer production ability.
