Sinochem set foot in oil refining in the end of 1980’s and it was the biggest stockholder of the first joint venture refining factory in Dalian West Pacific Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (WEPEC).WEPEC is one of a few Chinese refineries that are capable of processing high sulfur-content petroleum. All categories of the Petroleum products have gone through hydrogenation process. The plant is equipped with the crude Petroleum processing capacity of 10 million metric tons annually. It also holds some of China’s top Petroleum processing facilities: the hydrogenation facility with the capacity of 10 million metric tons per year, the atmospheric residue desulphurization (ARDS) facility with the capacity of 2 million metric tons per year, residue fluid catalytic cracking (RFCC) facility with the capacity of 3 million metric tons per year, and sulphur recycling facility with the capacity of 100 thousand tons per year.

Whilst supporting the improvement of business capacity of WEPEC, Sinochem is looking for opportunities for the possible merge and acquisition for refinery, or building a new processing plant of our own. We strive to establish a diversified Petroleum product’s supply system and promote sustainable and harmonious development of our Petroleum business’s upstream and downstream sectors.

At present, Sinochem Corporation is seeking for the opportunities to construct new oil refineries along the coastal area of Southeast China.
