From 1999, with the economic globalization and deepening reform of China’s market economy, Sinochem promulgated the strategy of “nurturing profitability in market economy” and began to conduct market-oriented strategy and carry out strategic transformation.

 In July 1999, Sinochem launched management improvement project and stepped on a brand new development track. In 1998, Sinochem successfully offset the blow of the Asian financial crisis.

At the end of 1994, the State Council formally approved Sinochem to conduct trial operation as a comprehensive trading company. The goal of the trial operation is: To build up a comprehensive trading company combining the functions of trading, industry, technology, finance, and information with trade at the core.
